Do I need a referral?

No referral is needed for our sessions.

How do I book a session?

Please give us a call on 0433 764 078 to arrange a session, or send a message via Contact Us or email. We will get in touch within the day and organise an initial phone consult.

How long are the sessions?

The first session is an assessment of 75 min. Consecutive sessions are usually 60 min.

What’s your cancellation policy?

Payment is available via EFT or in cash on the day of the session. If sessions are cancelled within 24 hours of the booking, a cancellation fee of 50% of the session cost will be applied and a 100% fee for no shows. Extenuating circumstances may waive the cancellation fee.

Do you accept NDIS participants?

We accept plan and self-managed NDIS participants.

Do I need horse experience?

No horse experience is needed but an open mind and love for animals. Sessions are always a little different as we work with what the environment, the horses and the humans bring on the day. The horses might be observed, brushed, led or included in small challenges such as walking through obstacles. Each session includes a regulation practise, mindfulness elements, and safety guidelines.

Is equine-assisted counselling safe?

Yes, safety is a top priority in equine-assisted counselling. Our horses are well-trained and your facilitator is experienced in both equine behaviour and therapeutic practices. All sessions are conducted in a controlled environment with appropriate safety measures in place.

What do I bring?

This is weather dependent. However, in any case your foot wear does need to be close-toed, i.e. gumboots, runners or hiking shoes. A water bottle, sunscreen and - on a cold day - warm clothes are also recommended.
